The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kulthida Tuamsuk and Associate Dean for International Affairs, Dr. Paradee Tungtang welcomed
Mr. Jan Blezinger, Counselor for Press and Culture, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany on Thursday 6th of August 2015 at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University.
The dean informed the Counselor about situation of teaching and learning German language at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences that each year 30 – 35 students enroll to study German language as their major and the number of students tends to be less because of higher demand to study Asian and ASEAN languages such as Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and Bahasa Indonesia.
The Counselor and the dean also discussed the possibility to strengthen the cooperation with educational institutes in Federal Republic of Germany and possibility to increase the number of inbound and outbound students especially for Thai students to study as exchange students in Germany. Moreover, the Counselor informed the dean that there will be a German Literature Event in Khon Kaen University on 7th October 2015, at Pae Kuk Kak Coffee shop (time and date to be confirmed and announced later). In this event, three authors who published German novels will come to promote their books and provide discussion session about the novels; this event will be opened for public audiences. Teachers and students who study German language are, of course, welcome and encouraged to join.
